Last Saturday I went with my mom during her weekly errand to the market. Then I asked her if the eatery where we eat during my younger days still exist. She said yes of course. Then I asked her if we can go there and eat like old times. After a few minutes of walking we finally arrived to Lola Enyang’s eatery. To my surprise it still looks the same as the day we first ate in that place. My mom said that’s the first solid food I ate when I was only 3 months old haha! imagine that.

Although the Lola Enyang is long dead, her family continued the recipe for the best tasting goto (ox meat congee) for me.
facts:
from the Chinese gu to (ox stomach)
The traditional meat used in goto is ox tripe. Ginger is another common ingredient.
Related Filipino dishes are lugaw (general term for congee) and arroz caldo(chicken rice porridge).
