The Tragedy that is Typhoon Pedring

This I might say is the worst flood that happened in my 28 years of staying in our barangay. Yes, we frequently suffer from floods during the monsoon season like anywhere in the low lying parts of the community but the flooding is only knee to waist high. And it usually takes place on the road not in our place, our home. But this flooding is far different from anything we have experienced. It ravaged in every house and properties that crossed its path. Not only in our community but through out our town in Calumpit and many parts of Bulacan. Our town is declared under State of Calamity because of this tragedy.

The main cause of this tragedy is Typhoon Pedring whose rains caused the major dams in the northern part of the country to mandatory spill out the water in their reservoir. The problem is they let the water out almost the same time. Adding up volume of water to the already flooded areas.

Here are some photos i have taken during the flood:

there are already flood waters in the major roads going to our community

this path is where i walk through going to our house. as you can see the flood water is almost waist deep.

i decided to go pass the flood to our house by riding a raft. the flood here is neck-high
here is some video i recorded as i rafted through this waters to get to our house
